Melco TL/38 Tubeless Face / Hump Tyre Lever – 21″ (530mm)

Our equivalent of the Michelin face lever. Forged in Sheffield from profiled-edge spring steel bar, flat with a large looped end. That loop is made for the hump inside a motocross wheel - the ridge that holds the tyre on during racing - which is why it is often called a hump lever. A niche pattern that ticks over steadily rather than sells in numbers. Use the large looped end to work the tyre over the wheel hump; the other end levers the bead. Motocross and off-road bike tyre work; groundcare distributors. Effectively maintenance-free. Daily use keeps it in condition; if it is left standing, wipe it down with an oily cloth to keep rust off. Nothing needs sharpening. Check for any snags or sharp edges that could tear a tyre, and never weld anything to the lever - the heat alters the steel.
