A bead wedge that stops a broken bead re-seating while you work. Once the initial bead is broken, slip it over the wheel rim and gravity carries it round, holding the bead clear as you lever the tyre off. Shaped a little like a heavy-duty curtain hook, laser cut from 25mm low-carbon steel plate in Sheffield and zinc plated.
After breaking the bead, hook the wedge over the wheel rim so it holds the bead off while you lever the tyre with a pair of levers.

Wipe down with an oily cloth if left standing. Check the hook and wedge faces for wear, spread or cracking, and replace it if the hook has opened up or the edge is damaged.
