Melco TL/37 Tubeless Flat Tyre Lever

A general-purpose flat tyre lever, forged in Sheffield from radius-edged spring steel bar so it will not cut into the rim. One end is a tapered pushing end; the other is a rounded, hooked lip for pulling the bead out. It works on the tyre machines or by hand, on tyres from light commercial down to car and motorcycle. An old-fashioned honest pattern - people even buy them to prize moulds apart on blow-moulding lines, because they last. Push and unseat the bead with the tapered end, then pull the bead out with the hooked lipped end. Use by hand or in a machine. General and agricultural tyre work; also bought by plastic/blow-moulding shops for prizing moulds apart. Effectively maintenance-free. Daily use keeps it in condition; if it is left standing, wipe it down with an oily cloth to keep rust off. Nothing needs sharpening. Check for any snags or sharp edges that could tear a tyre, and never weld anything to the lever - the heat alters the steel.
